Rövid bemutatkozás

Giuffrè is an Italian publishing house founded in 1931 in Milan, which was acquired by Lefebvre in 2018, forming the brand Giuffrè Francis Lefebvre. It has always been the leading Italian publisher in the legal, academic, professional, and scientific sectors, and it is now transitioning its production from print to digital.
The project was born from the need to highlight the new digital offerings while preserving the historical value of the printed editions. The intent was to guide the visitor from the entrance to a digital space, passing through a custom-made library featuring the iconic volumes of Giuffrè. This concept led to the creation of a representative area at the entrance, which is the heart of the project and symbolizes the transition from traditional to digital publishing.

The Giuffrè Francis Lefebvre office occupies the top floor of Monte Rosa 91 in Milan (Italy), a building refurbished by Renzo Piano's studio. The building is characterized by transparency and connection between the interiors and the city, with a horseshoe design enclosing a green, tree-covered core and an internal plaza/agora. Additionally, the top floor features two large terraces entirely dedicated to Giuffrè.
Cushman & Wakefield Workplace Strategy service identified the growing importance of communication and collaboration in Giuffrè's day-to-day operations, particularly with clients and external collaborators. Thanks to the new remote working policy and the resulting reduction in the number of workstations, the focus shifted to enhancing communication, collaboration, and re-energization, with dedicated spaces for each, in line with the client's spatial needs. The space was divided into two main functional areas: one for clients and the other for employees.
In this project, all the themes related to new ways of working and well-being have been addressed. The pandemic acted as a catalyst for the change that new generations are implementing—a change in how we live, interact, and work. The company and the office itself are no longer central to the system of belonging that shapes one's experience, but are part of a Total Workplace Ecosystem where workspaces become multiple. Work in the "building" is just one of several moments throughout the day or week. The physical space integrates with the virtual, making work smarter.
The Digital Hub, featuring a wide staircase and LED wall, was designed to blend the classic with the contemporary, and the physical with the digital. Giuffrè's specialized editorial work necessitated a large training room to host courses in collaboration with schools and clients. Daily work activities are centered around the central light well, with shared workstations, lockers, various-sized meeting rooms, phone booths, and different types of collaboration areas. A large break area opposite the Digital Hub includes a dining area with glass walls, a lounge with gaming corners, an acoustic pod, alcoves, and a large table surrounded by a library.
During the development of the project, a workplace strategy was implemented, actively involving people from various company departments. This inclusive approach made it possible to gather input and address the needs of each area, facilitating a collaborative decision-making process and ensuring the project met all business requirements. The result was a broad consensus on the project, with extensive participation and strong alignment across teams, contributing to a more robust and widely supported outcome.
The client embraced this project with great enthusiasm and wrote the following comment: "A great team effort. The perfect integration of areas dedicated to communication, collaboration, and employee well-being has created a dynamic and stimulating work environment, in line with our new corporate vision.
